MLM Extends the Joy of the CNY and Launches New Themed LRT to Celebrate the Year of the Horse

Macao Light Rapid Transit Corporation, Limited (hereinafter referred to as “MLM”) officially debuted today (the 4th day of the Lunar New Year) the new themed train “Starting the Journey of the New Year with the LRT”. This follows the launch of two previous themed trains, continuing the series of activities under “LRT Brings Prosperity for the 2026 New Year”. To maintain the festive atmosphere, the LRT mascot “Heng Chai” continues to visit stations to wish passengers a Happy New Year.

The themed train “Starting the Journey of the New Year”, launched today, features festive and auspicious elements of the Year of the Horse, symbolizing the beginning of a new cycle and the arrival of good fortune. Previously, MLM introduced two other themed trains: “Journey with Portuguese Charm”, decorated with tiles and cultural motifs typical of Macau, showcasing the city's unique allure; and “Golden Twilight”, inspired by Macau's streets, iconic architecture, and colorful fireworks, portraying the city's dazzling urban landscape. All three themed trains will operate on the Taipa Line, adding a festive touch to passengers’ journeys.

The President of MLM's Executive Committee, Chan Mun Fong, accompanied by mascot “Heng Chai,” visited stations to interact with passengers, extend New Year greetings, and distribute festive gifts in a joyful and lively atmosphere. At the same time, MLM has optimized the station information interface inside the LRT carriages, enhancing the passenger experience.

As part of the extended celebrations, the LRT mascot “Heng Chai” will make further appearances on February 21 and 22, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, at Hengqin Station and Barra Station, respectively, to wish passengers a Happy New Year. On February 14, the activity “LRT Brings Prosperity to Barra for the 2026 New Year” was successfully held at Barra Station, attracting many residents and tourists. Through this series of events, MLM aims to share the joy of the New Year and celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Horse together with the community and visitors.
