A train of LRT Taipa Line departing from Ocean Station to Taipa Ferry Terminal Station was stranded on the track due to a train fault, the train service between Ocean Station and Taipa Ferry Terminal Station ran at 20-minute intervals.
Around 8:55 am on 8th May, a train unit was found a breakdown in the motive power when departing from Ocean Station. The train was reactivated by staff but once again stalled on the track when it was heading to the Jockey Clue Station. Due to the incident, the train service between Ocean Station and Taipa Ferry Terminal Station ran at 20-minute intervals.
The train was successfully activated at 10:40 am and returned to the Depot, the LRT service was fully resumed normal at 10:50 am.
The cause for the incident is still under investigation and MLM will proceed with a detailed inspection for the incident train units. We apologies to all passengers for any inconvenience caused.
