LRT Taipa Line service was affected due to train fault between Lotus Checkpoint and Cotai West Station

A train of LRT Taipa Line was stranded on the track between the Lotus Checkpoint Station and Cotai West Station due to a train fault, during this period, the train service between Taipa Ferry Terminal Station and Lotus Checkpoint Station temporarily ran at 26-minute intervals, and the train service between Lotus Checkpoint Station and Ocean Stations temporarily ran at 20 to 26-minute intervals.

Around 9:22 am on 23rd May, a train unit was stranded on the track between the Lotus Checkpoint Station and Cotai West Station. Staff attempted to reactivate the train but failed.

The Operation Control Center dispatched another train unit to go to the site of the incident and connected the train at around 12:30 p.m., and subsequently towing it to the Workshop. The train service gradually returned to normal at 1:10 pm.

The cause for the incident is still under investigation and MLM will proceed with a detailed inspection for the incident train units. We apologies to all passengers for any inconvenience caused.
